Henriette of Perla Photography came to me as part of another brand collaboration with Photographer’s coach Ingvild Kolnes.
Henriette is a multi-passionate photographer who offers Elopement and wedding photography for nature-loving couples in Norway as well as stunning portraits and family photography. She also loves shooting creative editorial and brand photography and struggled to create a cohesive brand that represented all parts of her creative work.
The Brand Magic Process
My brand magic sessions are an intensive 90-minute session where we can focus on a specific area of your brand. It’s ideal if you have a strong brand vision and need inspiration to pull it all together yourself.
Fill out a questionnaire before our session, and we will pull together ideas on the day in real-time, creating a Canva Whiteboard or Pinterest board for inspiration. For Henriette we focussed on finding a brand direction, with a colour palette and font selection that matched her style and aligned with her audience.
As an extra, we added a simple typographic logo that could replace the old logo Henriette had ougrown.
The brand vision
Henritte’s signature photographic style is elevated and bohemian and rooted in nature and adventure. We wanted the brand to capture the essence of this.
Because of the dark winters, most of Henriette’s wedding photography takes place in the summer, and she focuses on studio shoots outside of wedding season, so her brand needed to have a wider appeal. Because her website was to be home to all of her photographic services, the brand needed to make sense for all of her audiences.
Creating a cohesive brand for different audiences
We tapped into the bohemian vibe and created brand statements for the separate areas of her business using the common thread of the love of adventure and freedom that Henriette and her clients share.

- Family Photography – for free spirits
- Brand & Editorial – for bold brands
The statements serve a directional function, delineating the separate services offered by Perla Photography but viewed together, they create a sense of cohesion and order.
Brand Vision to Visuals
I took inspiration for the brand colour palette from Henriette’s stunning photography portfolio and created a warm and romantic neutral backdrop with pops of plum and a bold pink mauve.
The typography added personality. We went for a bohemian typeface with elegant sweeping flourishes that perfectly complement the romantic adventure vibe, paired with a traditional serif and a warm handwritten typeface for added personal touches.
Henriette rebranded her entire business, had a new website built, updated her Instagram feed and reel covers as well as refining her portfolio.
