Yoga Teacher and Teacher Trainer Laura came to me on the anniversary of being in business for 10 years, with 4 businesses that all sit under her umbrella brand of Laura Green Yoga. She wanted professional yoga branding and to create a cohesive brand family to support her business in its next phase of growth.

Laura Green has a large following of loyal yogis and students and an online community of over 13,000 individuals. She teaches in-person and online classes and workshops and runs teacher training programs, YTT CPD programmes, and Yoga retreats across the world for both yogis and yoga teachers.

Laura’s brand glow-up focused on polishing the visual aspects of her business and providing consultancy and styling advice for her first brand photoshoot with the incredible Holly Bobbins Photography who also shot my office brand shoot.

Defining a Core Brand visual identity for a Yoga empire

Laura’s Yoga businesses serve different audiences, and she felt it was time to create distinct identities for them without moving too far away from her original brand. She wanted to create new branding as a sub-brand and logo for Yoga Teacher’s Collaborative, a new venture she was launching.

Laura had always used teal as her core brand colour and had previously included turquoise. She was keen to keep her brand gender-neutral as she serves a large audience base of both men and women.

I introduced a lighter seafoam and a vibrant Tiffany blue turquoise to the core color palette to make the palette flexible and adaptable to different uses.

These three colours serve as the foundation for all of her brands, creating a consistent visual approach while allowing for distinct brand identities across the different areas of her business.

We also chose a new font combination to use across her website, printed workbooks and social media graphics. The emphasis was on finding a font that was both legible and highly readable. We wanted simple, flowing fonts that would be calming on the eye.

Choosing a vibrant colour palette for a dynamic and passionate yoga teacher

When creating a visual identity for a personal brand, you have to consider the personality of the person behind the brand. Laura is dynamic, fun, and bold, with a zest for travel. But she’s also deeply soulful, reverent of the spiritual teachings of Yoga and loves the quiet calm of the sea.

This colour palette matches her strong, passionate personality as well as her softer, calmer side. It mirrors the Yin and Yang of her teaching style, which might see her teach a calming restorative class one week and a strong, challenging vinyasa class the next week.

Branded social media graphics for a yoga business

Laura engages with her community on Facebook and Instagram. She uses these platforms to communicate upcoming events and workshops and changes to class timetables.

I designed a suite of social media designs including:

  • Instagram Story templates
  • Instagram Post templates
  • Facebook Post templates

The templates are designed to be able to be used together to clearly represent the different areas of the business and clearly signpost who the messaging is for.

A calming, nourishing yoga brand for the Yoga Teacher’s Collaborative

Laura is the founder and custodian of The Yoga Teacher’s Collaborative: a space for yoga teachers to unite to support each other in their practice, development and businesses.

It has taken on a life and energy of its own and now boasts more than 4000 members, weekly podcast episodes and guest instructors from across the world. Laura wanted a distinct identity to stand out from the rest of her businesses, as it serves only qualified yoga instructors.

The brand embodies a very different energy from the rest of her brands, because it serves a different audience: The words Laura used to describe The Yoga Teacher’s Collaborative were “Nourishing, nurturing and supportive”.

Yoga teacher logo design

The Yoga Teacher’s collaborative required its own brand identity. The text-based logo features the same main font used across the rest of the brand, but we added a handwritten script font to soften the look.

It uses the soft, muted tones of its separate colour palette and the mandala elements can be applied as decorative elements to social media icons, backgrounds and patterns or as decorative elements on their own.
